Winter is on its way!
This week at Beech Hall Nursery the children are learning about warm winter clothes and are making pictures of hats, gloves and scarves.
Remembrance & Senses
The Ash room children enjoyed an interesting trip to the Cenotaph last Friday. They looked and felt all of the names on the wall of remembrance and saw a beautifully painted picture on a wall full of poppies.
The Nursery children have had a very busy few weeks and have enjoyed a number of festivals, All of the children dressed up for Halloween and we had a spooky week making spiders, cats, monsters, bats, scooping out pumpkins, and exploring wibbly wobbly green jelly full of spiders!
All of the nursery children are beginning to understand about the changes around them. They have been watching the leaves blowing around and the changes in the weather.
The nursery children are always 'busy bee's' and this week has been no exception. All of the Ash room children have been learning about autumn animals in particular squirrels and hedgehogs. They have been watching the squirrels in the nursery garden and in forest school looking for food before they hibernate. the children have used leaves to make squirrels tails and fork prints to put prickles on their hedgehogs.
Autumn has definitely arrived in the nursery! The Elm room children have been exploring colours, especially Autumn colours such as red, brown, yellow and orange which they can see as they collect conkers and leaves.
Exciting trip to the Library
A lovely morning spent at our local Library. Beginning with a trip in our school minibus, thanks Mr P! we spent time exploring the childrens section of the library and enjoyed hearing Hazel reading us a story. We brought some books back to Nursery to read and so we can't wait to go back and change them!
